Jesus should be our closest friend, but here in this life, we couldn't make it without some close friends.
Or we would certainly be lonesome without any friends. Some people call any acquaintance a 'friend', but just
what makes a friend for you?
My husband is my closest friend, but I also have a close friend whose name is Nancy. She sang with
a quartet with which my son played lead quitar. I was not going to that church at the time, but on Easter Sunday,
1985, she and her husband stopped by our house and we met. She is the kind of person who never meets a stranger. Her
husband thought she was crazy, barging in on strangers. But, thank the Lord, she did, and we became instant friends!
She's the type, after you meet, you will never be the same. We don't get to see each other as much as we would like,
but we certainly know that, if one of us was in need of prayer, encouragement, etc., the other would be right there
on the ring of the phone!
I have also been privileged to become acquainted, hence CLOSE friends, with a cyber girl, named
Peggie. We met through our respective homepages. I felt a kinship with her the instant I got on her Holy Spirit-filled pages, her
'home away from home', and it is filled with awesome love for our friend, JESUS. I believe GOD placed Peggie there in
cyberspace just for me to meet. She has been an inspiration, a joy, and loads of laughs over the short time I have come
to know her. We share many of the same interests, talk the 'same language', although I am from the South,(ALABAMA) and she is from the Midwest,
I would think, being from Missouri. But God knows WHO needs to meet, knows the time and the place, and certainly knows our hearts.
He has truly given me a friend in Peggie!
