Life has a way of sometimes slapping us in the face, Things seem to be going fine, but, then, something happens, and life isn't what it used to be. The job is gone, the money isn't coming in, the kids are straying from their Christian upbringing, or perhaps your
spouse has decided he/she wants a divorce. This isn't what you want, but there's nothing you can do to change the situation. Or, is there?
Remember the story of Samson, and how Delilah pressed him to tell her his secret of his strength? When she found out his strength lay in his hair, she had the Philistines come in and shave him. They put out his eyes and put him in prison. But, there came the day, after his hair had grown, that they took him out of prison and was
going to taunt him. He asked to be stood by the pillars of prison so he could lean upon them. He subsequently prayed to God to have the strength to avenge his two eyes. He brought down the building, killing the Philistines, and having killed more in that one act than he had his entire life.
Prayer can change the ruins around, bring your life out of the pits, and make you once more at peace. He knows our every need, and He has the power to change things in our midst.
But, we have to be willing to humble ourselves, and seek His face, and hold on to our faith in Him. We can't be wishy-washy. We have to be obedient to His Word, and have the patience to wait, no matter how long it takes. Just when it seems that God isn't going to answer, it might be the time He will. But, remember, the enemy is going to
hit you with his best to try and get you over in unbelief, to hamper your blessings from God. He doesn't want you to get your life straightened up, your kids back on the right track, or your marriage healed. But, GOD is able
'do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us'. [Ephesians 3:20] So, never give up! If you need something from God, pray and ask Him to help you through your troubles.
| Heavenly Father, the enemy is on the warpath today. He's out to kill, steal, and destroy anyone he can. Help those that are weak place their trust in you, and believe that you will supply the strength and power to get them through all the troubles that life has to offer. We give you thanks and praise. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen. |
