A diversity is a difference, or a variety. Now, all of us like a variety of different things in our lives. Take cereal for instance: a child loves as many different kinds as they have
fingers and toes! Just ask any child. And, then, there's the automobiles. We have a diversity around our house - Ford, Pontiac, and Cadillac. And, soccer! What a diversity of players, from the new to the old, from the learned to the unlearned, from the quick to the slow - so many
different players! And, I am sure, if you were to stop and think, you'd find many diversities around your own home, and in your own family.
In the Word, it says there are diversities of gifts. Spiritual gifts were extraordinary powers bestowed in the first ages, to convince unbelievers, and to spread the gospel. They were freely given by God. There are various gifts, and various offices to perform, but all proceed from one God, one Lord, one Spirit; that is, from the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
