'Daniel' in the Den of Lions! Weekly devotional by Barbara Sanders
John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

This country is in a state of perplexity this week. It may be a long time in making a decision as to whom our new president for 2001 will be. The norm isn't being followed, in that the count has been done twice, and the same person has come out on top. To the world, our nation looks like it is in a turmoil and can't run an election
without problems.
Our nation needs a 'healing' - for the bringing together those divided, in order for the president-elect to be declared and go on with the nation's business. Through prayer, we can support this nation, and perhaps bring about an end to the agitation and anxiety that is now flooding our streets and air waves. As Christians, we need to uphold our nation in prayer for the
will of the Lord to be done, and as quickly as possible. Until this process is finished, our nation is going to be in a state of bewilderedness.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Let us, as Christians, humble ourselves, seek the face of God, and pray like we've never prayed before. Our nation needs closure on one of the most important elections of our time. If we do as the scripture says, then GOD will bring closure (i.e. heal their land).
| Heavenly Father, guide us in our decisions to pray for our nation. Help us to have the nation's health at the top of our prayer list. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen. |
